Discount Polo Cologne

Every cologne has three perfume notes - top, middle, and base.

The top note is what you smell right after application (alcohol mostly) and lasts about one minute. It is the most noticeable because it’s what you smell immediately after applying the scent. It may provide your first impression of the perfume but it fades quickly.

The body of the perfume is the middle note, and is generally acquired from five to thirty minutes after initial application. This is when the smell of the perfume mellows.

The base note blends with the middle note to provide the main theme of the perfume. It is the richer smell. The base note is how the scent smells after mixing with your skin and body and is generally produced two hours after application. This is why you should never impulse buy cologne.

These three notes are why you must be careful of purchasing perfumes simply because they smell great on your sister or best friend. Everyone’s skin reacts differently with a perfume, producing middle and base notes that are unique to your body chemistry.

When searching for the right cologne, spray it directly onto your skin and wait thirty seconds before smelling it. Ask the salesperson for some coffee beans to sniff in between samples. Coffee beans neutralize smells. This way you will not max out your sinuses by mixing so many smells!

Finding cologne you love and wearing it regularly can play a big part in creating your signature scent so people want to get near.

Just like women’s fragrances, if a man wears a scent that’s appropriate to his personality, lifestyle, and the occasion, he’ll leave a lasting impression. Men’s cologne will generally last much longer than after-shave. Many guys choose to wear both in which case the fragrance lasts longer.

It's important to know that every scent or cologne smells different on every person. The way a scent takes to your body and your skin is a question of chemistry, and has to do with the chemical reaction between you and the particular fragrance. While your friend smells great in the latest Calvin Klein men's cologne, it could make you smell more like a gym locker.

You would never buy a pair of shoes without trying them on, right? The same goes for cologne. Always try cologne before purchasing it. Never assume that because it smells good on someone else that it will smell good on you.
